FOX的《末日之旅 The Passage》由Liz Heldens﹑Matt Reeves及Scott Free负责制作。该项目原本是上年度的，不过开发到半路宣布被砍掉重练，事隔一年后才被FOX正式预订成剧。
 本剧根据 Justin Cronin的同名畅销小说改编，故事中美国在研究某神秘病毒，这种病毒既可治愈所有疾病，亦足以毁灭世界。Amy Bellafonte（Saniyya Sidney饰）成为本次实验的试验对象，而FBI探员Brad Wolgast（Mark-Paul Gosselaar饰）则成了她的代理父亲并保护起她来。
